So you just kinda have to live with it. :-p I've lived with a hiatal hernia pretty much my entire life - it's pretty manageable. Just don't overstuff yourself or lay down after you eat. From what I understand, the fundiplocation doesn't have a very high success rate for symptom relief anyway.
