Guest guest
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your OS will probably not want to do surgery on you if you are sick. The reason being is that a cold turns into pneumonia during surgery. This is what my OS told me. If your throat was just a little sore then I would say you are probably ok, but if you really do have a strong cold then he will probably postpone it. You may want to suggest calling the doctors office today and getting a hold of someone even though it is July 4th. Other OS's might be different but that is what my OS told me. > Hey Everyone- > > Okay, so I'm supposed to have my surgery this Wednesday, July 6. > It's July 4th (Happy 4th of July to those who celebrate), and I am > currently sick. Guest guest
Maybe try and get ahold of some echinacea to boost your immune system to fight off any cold you might be getting? That and Vit C? M x
Guest guest
, If your throat is really sore and you have a bad cold chances are that you will not be able to do the surgery. Reason being that they can't get the tubes down you without hurting you. The anesthesiologist will be the one to decide most probably. I would call your doctor first thing tomorrow and tell him and see what he says. In the mean time, REST! Oh, I had braces from 7 to 17 years old and then again now from 26 to 27 years old currently and I can tell you one is NEVER too old to have braces. Cammie and Shirley can tell you that too:-) Sara > Hey Everyone- > > Okay, so I'm supposed to have my surgery this Wednesday, July 6. > It's July 4th (Happy 4th of July to those who celebrate), and I am > currently sick. Guest guest
of course you could drink lots of OJ which does have Vit C in it:-) Sara > > > Maybe try and get ahold of some echinacea to boost > your immune system to fight off any cold you might be > getting? Guest guest
, I don't think they'll do the surgery if you're sick. They want you in good shape when they put you under. But of course, you'll need to check with them. I'm so worried I'll catch a cold on the plane to Seattle! I almost want to wear a face mask! Think positive, think positive .... The guy who made that comment is a nitwit. C'mon, people of all ages have braces, and 19 is not at all outside the norm. Ignore him. Guest guest
Sorry. I think if you have an infection, you do NOT want them to do the surgery...
