Guest guest
Glucosamine and Chondroitin are for rebuilding cartilage, I believe. Tendonitis is inflammation, which I currently have in my knee. Maybe someone can let us know which anti-inflammatory is the best, as I need one now as well. in Austin RNY April 1998 Glucosamine/MSM Complex? > Would someone please let me know what the best glucosamine? chondroitin? > is best for proximal rny's? Guest guest
I have tried all different kinds, including tablets, capsules and liquids. I find that the liquid works best. I use " Symtec Joint Movement Glucosamine. 2 tablespoons has 2000 mg glucosamine HCL, 1200 mg chondroiton sulphate and 500 mg MSM, as well as some vitamin D, vitamin C, sodium and 50 mg collagen. I get it at Costco, but I think Walmart has it too. It's about $18.00 for a month's supply. Even though tablets and capsules are supposed to be absorbed just fine, for me the liquid glucosamine works noticeably better, and I don't take as much of it as with the other. I just take the recommended 2 TBS a day. I know that glucosamine/MSM work for joint pain, but do they work for tendonities too? I sometimes have trouble with that in my wrist. Anyway, it sure can't hurt. As far as I know there have been no side-effects reported for glucosamine, MSM or chondroitin. I'm going to check on that tendonities thing. Guest guest
According to Dr. Weil, ginger and cumin and Omega 3 are anti-inflammatories. I have tried ginger. You can probably get some more tips about anti-inflammatories on his website at http://www.drweil.com/app/cda/drw_cda.html?command=searchResults & keyword=inflamm\ ation Barbara Jean Glucosamine/MSM Complex? > > > > Would someone please let me know what the best glucosamine? chondroitin? > > is best for proximal rny's? Guest guest
Hmmm, mine have been hurting too. I take this as a good sign in that the Texas heat is finally going away for another season. We actually do have a fall season here. Sometimes it we blink we miss the winter stuff though. I do digress. I wish I knew what to take. Most of the time I just go to the chiropractor. Guest guest
Hey Lori, I take a liquid glucosamine/chondroitin w/MSM & Collagen from Costco called Joint Movement. I used to take tablets and felt a liquid might be a better choice. I think it works great. I take it for arthritis. MSM is the ingredient I have heard that can help inflammation which is what tendonitis is I believe. Before I started taking the above, I took just MSM and it was also effective by itself. I am also a proximal RNY. Good luck. Diane LAP RNY 9/99 > Would someone please let me know what the best glucosamine? chondroitin? > is best for proximal rny's?
