Guest guest
> What is the basis for the colon removal? > Is she completely malnourished? > How are her symptoms? > I had C Diff myself for years and it is a friggen nightmare- sometimes Steroids are necessary but treating C Diff with it can actually make the person worse since the immune system is compromised and has a hard time eradicating the C Diff. Is she a candidate for fecal transplantation? My GI actually refers patients that have systemic positive C Diff results to get this done. Of course her colon would be inflamed if she has C Diff on and off. > Jodi Sorry, had to be off for awhile, can't stay on 24 hrs/day. The basis for surgery is that she has been through all the meds - last one Humira. Whole colon inflamed, dr. won't try LDN because of no case studies for UC. Already had lots of prednisone. Symptoms improved right away after starting prednisone again. I wouldn't say she's completely malnourished. (ht 5'5 " , wt 123 lbs) She had lost appetite and was beginning to have some vomiting due to 'reactive' stomach as seen on endoscopy. Guest guest
> Has she ever tried s.boulardi for the c diff? My ND says that it will cure it. Katy C.diff. was in Nov. 2008. 2 recent tests were negative. She did use s.boulardi at that time.
