Guest guest
So I was thought I was silly in asking but I asked about a pillow for under my knees and perhaps a small one for under my back in the OR. The PA I was speaking with said that strangely enough they have those two things available but no one thinks to ask for them. ================================================== I remember having the same conversation with the PA taking care of me. He said they would place a pillow under my knees during surgery. Unfortunately, the 45-50 degree angle of the head of the bed also killed my back after surgery, and I placed myself flat for about 20 minutes (felt so good) and one of the nurses came in to yell at me. The HOB has to be elevated to alleviate gas pains, but it was the most comfortable I had been. It is hard for me to understand how or why people would go through this surgery just to want to stretch their stomachs out again. Or wonder how they are going to eat cake. And why any responsible doctor would help them attain these goals!
