(Which is one reason I'm annoyed with a couple of companies who haven't gotten back to me on some items I have found useful and THINK may be legal.) — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Is Spice Island the same as Frontier because I found a whole line of garlic, onion, etc. but wasn't sure if it's legal. It's not that easy to find around here. I think it was at Rice Epicurean but I'd have to check my notes. Guest guest
Wow, I guess I'll research it because I was so happy to find this nearby and have been slowly replacing my spices because they cost a little more. So I guess mom gets them? Anyone know for sure because otherwise I'll have a long wait to go find Penzey's ;-). Debbie 41 cd I don't think Spice Island is legal. I ended up ordering a new batch of spices from Penzey's. It was a bit of an investment, but they last a long time. I still cook other non scd food for my family and I use the old spices when I cook dishes I can't eat anyway. I love Penzey's spices anyway.PJ > > > >do any spices besides garlic powder have added > > > >starch? are there any scd legal garlic powders> > > >out there? i am almost two weeks into the scd> > > >and was also wondering if i should be waiting to> > > >introduce spices, etc. into my diet. > > >> > > For the first 6-7 years on SCD, I made my own> > > onion and garlic powders. It's usually just the onion and garlic that they stick anti-caking stuff in. Now, I wouldn't use an el-cheapo brand. You can order spices from Penzey's on-line if there isn't a store in your vicinity. Although if you get a chance to visit a store, it's a sensory delight. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Thanks ;-). Someone recently posted about a new Penzey's in the Heights area of Houston. I haven't been up there but it will definitely be more fun than going to the mall for me lol. Debbie 41 cd On Sun, Jun 6, 2010 at 2:47 PM, Wizop Marilyn L. I use several of their spices with no problems. I was sad to find (at least at my location) that none of their vanilla was legal. I ended up having to go to Whole Foods. Yes, when I first started SCD, I was very sad to find out that my beloved double-strength vanilla wasn't SCD-legal. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
