Guest guest
It is my understanding that an endoscope can find more than a cat scan or MRI. Guest guest
I agree with Tara that an endoscopy will show much more than an upper GI or catscan. I, too, was having pain after eating in my pouch-this out of the blue at 17 months post-op. Before we did any tests, the doc put me on Nexium, suspected an ulcer. 5 days later-pain free with no testing. If the Nexium had not worked, he was going to do an endoscope. Guest guest
That's what I'm going through right now. My doc doesn't think it's an ulcer (I'm not so sure), so he put me on 2 weeks of Bentyl and a month of Prilosec...no problem. But, a week after I ran out of the Prilosec, the pain returned. So, renewed the Prilosec, and 3 weeks later and 3 more " incidents, " I just today picked up a scrip for Nexium. I'm hoping the Nexium takes care of the problem, but if not, it's scope time. in NJ ************************ > I agree with Tara that an endoscopy will show much more than an upper GI or catscan. Guest guest
In my opinion the scope will tell you a lot. They can look around and see if there is a stricture or blockage of some sort. Don't worry about the procedure it is really easy. Hope that helps, Joanie I need some help > Hi > I am a member who had open rny on 05-13-02. > I have been having some pain in my stomach especially after eating. > My surgeon order an upper GI which was normal. > Then he order a cat scan which also was normal. > Now he wants me to go to another doctor and have an upper and lower > endoscopy. > My question to anyone out there is.
