Guest guest Posted June 25, 2005 Report Share Posted June 25, 2005 that's right Sara. your look has taken on something pretty sophisticated. when i compare your before and most recent after photos i can't believe how much a few adjustments to bone position can do to change the appearance on anyone. i'm glad that you've received attention that boosted your self-esteem. I encountered a similar situation 2 weeks ago during my graduation ceremony. I had just done the walk across the stage after shaking all the important people's hands, when i stepped backstage i was approached by a camera unit. This woman asked me if i would like to play a part in a promotional video. I asked her what i had to do and she just told me to look into the camera and follow her hands with my eyes. Needless to say it was really weird for me, because i know before the surgery i probably wouldn't have agreed to put my face on tv. The whole time i was standing there, i was like, " wow. .. they think i'm beautiful! " hahaha. .. anyway, the surgery and the aesthetic improvements has been pretty liberating. i am no longer consumed with my appearance, and i am now able to focus on other priorities, which will come in handy as i pursue more post-graduate studies.

& nbsp;

derrick

& gt;From: & quot;Sara & quot; & lt;sararegine@... & gt;
& gt;Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Something strange but pleasant...
& gt;Date: Fri, 24 Jun 2005 22:21:51 -0000
& gt;
& gt;Hi All
& gt;
& gt;Just wanted to fill you in on something strange but pleasant that
& gt;happeneded to me today. Guest guest Posted June 25, 2005 Report Share Posted June 25, 2005 Hi Sara, You truly have transformed yourself! Your pictures are amazing, truly...I thought you were just fine looking before surgery, but one can't help admit how much the surgery improved your appearance. Trust me, that I mean that in the most sincere way possible - because I've had the same image problems my entire life also, so I mean nothing bad with what I say!! When I was very young I was teased for how my profile was, my nose being a bit big, and my chin being pretty small for my face - and kids calling me a 'loser', etc. Luckily though it never stopped me from doing what I wanted in life - career, husband and great kids, etc. In fact, if anything it probably propelled me to reach higher goals than I might have had I not been teased - but anyway I don't know that for sure. I just want to say that even though you were certainly beautiful before, you are very much 'improved' and you look absolutely fantastic! Congrats.... I am still quite swollen since I'm only post-op day 5...but already this surgery has drastically changed my profile. I had five procedures done (!) and now I not only have a 'real' chin for the first time in my life, but my nose even fits my face for the first time - ever! It's not even the same shape - it's amazing to look at actually! Because my face was 'too far' back it just made all my problem area's even worse...now with my facial bones in balance - once the swelling goes down, I don't think I'll be so self concious of my face or profile either. I had the surgery for medical reasons, but the part about looking better is certainly a real benefit - especially today because society places a strangely unfair priority on beauty. A shame to do that really, because beauty really comes from within I feel. Anyway Sara, I just wanted to say that your beauty is really shining out wonderfully now!! If you still have those supplies I'd love to have them, by the way. If not - that's quite alright! Bless you for such a generous offer. P.S. how in the world did you get by with such little swelling from the surgery??? I took arnica too but still swelled a lot, but I am older than you too, so that makes a difference I think! TAke care, Judy > Hi All > > Just wanted to fill you in on something strange but pleasant that > happeneded to me today.
