Guest guest
Thanks . I will have to try that. Of course I won't do it for any more than a few days but it sounds like it's something that will work. We did it right out of surgery and it worked then....lol. And yes I was referring to your upcoming surgery. I can remember how excited I was and nervous all at the same time. Was running around like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to get everything done at work and home. Trying to get legal matters in order (just in case) and church stuff too. Well everything got done and on time too. Hang in there and good luck. Will be praying for you. Guest guest
Hey Laurette, There is another message board I am on for wls and weekly it seems they have what's called a " Protein Train " they do it for I think 3 day's and its suppose to jumpstart your weightloss again. If anyone is at that stop in weightloss they are asked to hop on board for the ride. We might need to start something like that over here too. I'll get more details as the week goes by but it seems to help them and some have lost loads of weight in short amount of time. Guest guest
Laurette, I'll be sure to tell you everything. I just emailed the girl who started it this morning so maybe we can find out together. But what I saw so far is all they do for three day's is totally all protein and water. Yes I know...I am counting the days and its one week from tomorrow for surgery...that's what your talkin' about right...LOL!!! Hugs, > , > Oh that sounds like a great idea. Please let me know what you can find out. > Any help is appreciated. Thanks girlfriend. Guest guest
Laurette any others interested in the Protein Train, This is from another WLS message board....they say this works... This is what it is...first thing to remember is we all do it a bit different but for the same reasons... number one is to defeat the carb monster...aka carb cravings, ... number two is to jump start stalled out weight loss...also there is some thought that is the pouch is stretched it will shrink... i dunno if its true or not. protien diets will cause you to go into ketosis (remember the optifast diet) you loose fast but its not a really good idea to do long term, hence 3 days is pretty common as a goal... now this is what I do i drink my morning coffee... yes i am a caffeen addict.... then the rest of the day i do nothing but protien shakes water crystal light or some sugar free flavored water... the first day is hard but the second day and third day are pretty easy to me... then on the 4th day i start adding things like a scrambled egg with cheese still protien but food along with my shakes... then as time goes on i get back to a semi normal diet i never totally stop my shakes as i totally believe in them even though my dr does not... i will keep a daiily post of what i do that day so folks can follow and see what happens ... i have a girl friend in ohio that is joining me on this but she never does shakes she does just food... so i am compairing notes on how we both do... s interested... She had written me about it and I copied and pasted it. Hope it helps. I know I am keeping it for future reference. Hugs, in AL.
Guest guest
Oooooo, like the Stillman Diet, my mom used to use it all the time while she was modeling, good for very short periods of time. I should do that tomorrow through Friday, that would kick start myself a little, thanks guys!!! Guest guest
Laurette, They only do it for short periods...like several day's to jumpstart weightloss again. From what I have read its like maybe once a month or when other's join and need help. They all do it together and share problems also. I think a group effort would be splendid cause we are all in it together...well I will be soon...LOL! Dang I have been going around with my head cut off trying to be superwoman when I know I can't. I've been freezing dinner's for Don and getting stuff cleaned, moved and cleaned and moved again...LOL! We also had an 11 yr old ADHD and other wonderful problems foster child for the weekend and he gave us a run for our money .... GEESH...where did his energy come from too! He ate more than my husband and myself put together. And he's a little beanpole too! Oh well...its over this time...LOL! Hugs, > Thanks . I will have to try that. Guest guest
Hey gals, I am absolutely interested in the " protein train " , I think with the vitamins and for only 3 or 4 days it wouldn't hurt to try. I don't have a scale at home (I would break them before I had my surgery), so I have to wait till I get to the Dr to check my weight (don't shake your head). I just really need to loose the weight fast now, because I need to have a Hysterectomy and they won't do it until I've lost " enough " weight...
