Subject: Surgery today

I know I haven't been very active on this chatboard, since I only

discovered it 2 weeks ago. In about 30 minutes I am off to the hospital

to get my jaw advanced. I looked at the hospital papers yesterday and

discovered that I was supposed to go to a class that explained

everything. Oops! I guess it too late now. I saw the OD yesterday,

and she said that my braces will be on for another 6 months to a year.

I've had them on over 2 years now. Anyway, I will be bringing a zip and

sip with me to drink water. I won't be staying in the hospital. I'm a

little anxious. I will be banded for a week, I think. I know my

procedure is not nearly as involved as most of you. I had my palet

expanded last fall. Just wanted to check in with you all.

Hi Patty,

I am sure you have already left for your surgery today, but I wanted

to let you know that you have good wishes for a great surgery coming

your way. I hope your recovery is smooth and uneventful, and that

your results are fabulous! I hope you post post op as you feel

able. Good luck Patty!

Hugs,

Fran

Another 6 months? haha.. That what my ortho said -- that was 10

months ago, and he's telling me I still have another 8 months to

go. But I'm all paid up -- it's just the annoyance of having all

this metal in my mouth!!!!

Hope that the surgery goes well and that they figure out what's going

on. What will they be doing if there is a blockage?

Big hugs and let us know how you are when you can.
