Parasites?

Hi there,

SCD about 6 months now. Very little progress I can see--never gotten past the

level 2 diet from pecanbread. Can't even eat carrots, avocado, vinegar, any

nuts, dairy (cow, goat or otherwise).

My doctor thinks I may have parasites in my liver that are wreaking havoc on the

bowels. I had a positive test for Blastocystis hominis in the stool a couple

years ago, which I attempted to clear with a very intense triple-antibiotic

treatment. Two subsequent stool tests (from the pros, formerly Great Smokies,

can't remember the name) did not show that or any other parasites over 6 months

after the treatment.

Anyway, my doctor recommends a course of allicillin (concentrated macerated

garlic at very high dose) plus milk thistle. I have found an SCD-legal

allicillin and have already decided to do what he suggests.

What I'm wondering is, has anybody out there had experience with parasites?

Some of the literature out there suggests that parasites may be a cause of many

of the symptoms I have, and on the flip side there are people like Hulda

--the parasite guru who wrote " A Cure for All Cancers " and then died from

cancer (I am highly skeptical, but am actually doing her protocol because I will

try just about anything at this point).

Elaine's book treats parasites minimally, suggesting that just by bringing your

flora back into balance through SCD the parasites will die off-- from what

little I know about some parasites, this seems highly unlikely.

Your thoughts? Successful parasite cleansings?

Thanks,
