I am in Northern Virginia, so I can get DCCC at Giant Food, Wegmans or WF. In some ways Wegmans is giving WF a run for their money. They are an upscale grocery store, but not as pricy as WF. I know of Wegmans from a friend of mine in Rochester, NY. Guest guest
I live in Silver Spring MD and I find Dry Curd Cottage Cheese at Whole Foods in Silver Spring or Rockville. I buy about 5 packs at a time and I have found they keep just fine after the expiration date in the refrigerator. If they are out I ask when the next shipment is in and they set some aside for me. Lise Jimmy’s mom Dry curd cottage cheese is impossible to find in the Baltimore area of land. I tried ordering it online and it came unusable because of lack of refrigeration in the shipping process. So I want to know if the following plan is scd legal. I am going to microwave store bought small curd cottage cheese and then drain it until all the liquid is removed. After this I will use it to make baked goods. What do you think? -- I support ! Visit www.jamieoliver.com to get on board
Guest guest
I only found DCCC earlier this year. I went the first 2 years on SCD without it. It's definately doable. I just either didn't make those recipes or subbed dripped and pressed yogurt. Dripping: line a colander with a cotton cloth. pour fresh chilled yogurt in and and folder the edges of the cloth over (so it doesn't drip into the fridge). Put in the refrigerator overnight. Pressed: after dripping place something a little heavy on it and drip some more until thick like cream cheese.
