How crucial is it for someone on SCD to have this over store bought? It's not a priority if you can't afford it. Just do the best you can. likewise with organic veggies. My son eats tons of eggs but they are from free range chickens are actually cheaper than the grocery store eggs so that is not a problem. > > Eileen > Mother of 19 yo son with UC > SCD 2 months/no meds > > > > ------------------------------------ > >

Grass-fed beef and free range chickens are great. But many thousands of people have gotten well on regular store bought meats, so long as those meats didn't have injected illegals -- which it sounds like the meat you are getting does not. I chose, after I was recovering my health, to start moving in the direction of better quality meats and vegetables as I was able to afford it. But as much as I would like to, I can't afford pastured cheeses and butter and all manner of things like that. Follow the SCD parameters -- and do the best your budget allows as to the kind of meat and veggies. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
