Guest guest
, My Mother got me a gift certificate for Christmas to a very prestigious hair salon near her home. I kept putting off using it 'cause I was so wrapped up in all my pre-surgery, surgery, post- surgery stuff. I've decided to use it once I'm unwired, unsplinted and have my skeletal wires removed. Then, folks will REALLY be confused about what's different and I'll REALLY feel like the new and improved Carol! Thanks for listening, Carol > > > > Ok, I'm starting to get a little weary of hearing people say > to > > > > me " Wow, you look like a totally different person " or " Oh my > > god, > > > > it's not you at all " . Guest guest
Great idea Carol!! Many women do that following facial cosmetic surgery, and it really does work too! Guest guest
Fran, Excellent! Then I'm in good company. If I ever get up the courage to post some before and after pics ... maybe I'll post an after-new hairdo-pic, too! Take care, Carol > > > > I couldn't have put it any better, you've hit the nail right > on > > > the > > > > head there Fran. > > > > > > > > B > > > > x
Guest guest
Hi girls - sorry to butt in here, but just wanted to say that this was really fun to read!! Thanks for this, I needed it. I've worried what I'll tell people about my new look too once healing is pretty much over and I'm going out and about again. My surgeries will and already have dramatically changed how I look...so I'm going to have to learn how to deal with comments and questions too. Anyway - sorry for the ramble....but I just really enjoyed reading this ;-) Judy > > > > > I couldn't have put it any better, you've hit the nail right > > on > > > > the > > > > > head there Fran. > > > > > > > > > > B > > > > > x
Guest guest
Hi Fran What a brave girl you are. You are so full of information. I never even thought about any other benefits from the surgery other than getting rid of my pain, but you are right, my skin looks better and I did have deep nasolabial lines which I often used fillers to reduce the apperance, and so far it has gotten rid of them, which is the reason everyone seems to think I look younger. The only thing is I have now got little lines on top of my lip which the OS said is because I used to force my mouth shut, so I will look into that later on. Everyday I am loving my new me, it was hard to imagen what it was going to look like without the swelling, but I am very happy. Also because I had a long face syndrome, I had this very hollow apperance on my cheeks which have now been replaced by fullness bacause of the new position of both the top and bottom jaw. Over all, the operation has made a huge difference to my apperance. When do you have your surgery scheduled for? Guest guest
Hi , I am hoping that is the case for you too! It sounds really similar to what I was told. And you are seeing it in the mirror too, which is the real proof. My surgery isn't for about two years from now! UGH! The OS will do the upper with bone augment, and lower advancement/lowering/rotating, and lower nasal septum reconstruction. Then I will do a separate functional upper nasal septum and rhinoplasty after that. Then finally I do a full mouth rehab with all - or maybe if they can move my teeth enough to do just the upper and lower front teeth - with crowns. I get to pick the color too! No more bleaching necessary - ever! lol It is difficult to get excited about the end result though, when it is that far off, and that many procedures away. It will probably be at least three years before it is all done. And all because I asked about why I was choking all the time. lol That is why I get excited when I see someone getting near their completion. It helps me keep focused on a long haul. I love to see other peoples posts too. Like yours! And sharing your pics is a wonderful thing to do for us preops. It gives us hope and keeps our eyes on the prize. It can get discouraging otherwise. I hope you are having a nice evening.
