Guest guest
I had vomiting for about 6-7 months after surgery. Just once in a while. And then it stopped. Actually that's not quite true. I would get that " overly full " feeling that was an early warning that I might vomit and I started to intentionally relax, breathing deeply, and to visualize my pyloric valve opening and the food going through. That ended my vomiting. /Seattle > Hi, I'm 6 months post op and occasionally vomit just after eating. Guest guest
I vomited badly last night .. Im not sure why, not really overstuffed, but I might have been.. didnt get a chance to feel really full, just nauseated. I have had 'the runs' for the last two days, too.. I must have done something to upset my system.. or, maybe Im just not as recovered as I thought I was.. You are not alone. Guest guest
vomiting I can't help y'all with.. I had stomach flu early postop & vomited a lot. Diarrhea- well.... try taking 2 asperin every 4 hours.. this will sooth the gut a bit to slow peristalsis. Also, munch Altoids (peppermint only); they contain peppermint oil that also acts to sooth the stomach. Then there is fibercon (only if >6 weeks along)- it does sop up a lot of the runs.. Finally- acidophilus. Refrigerated. Big. Doses. If all of the above fail, well.. that's why there is immodium. I was taking up to 18 a day at one point early postop. Also, don't give up.. it does get better. Hope this helps- Love you Soozles! Guest guest
Sherry, I'm afraid this suggestion is too late for you, but just in case you're still suffering the nausea and vomiting, there are things your doc can do to help. I was sent home with suppositories, which I never needed, " just in case. " And even in the recovery room, they can give you an injection that helps. I'm sorry I didn't see your plight sooner. But if you are still suffering so, be sure to let your doc know. And if you need further surgery (not on your mouth -- that's not what I'm thinking) but for anything else, be sure to tell the anesthesiologist and the surgeon that you've had this reaction to the anesthesia, so they can work toward preventing it next time.
