Hi, just giving an update on my daughter who has had dizziness for 2 months.

The cat scan, MRI and audiologist reports all showed nothing. - which we are thankful for.

The pediatrician is 100% sure this is all migraine related and put her on Topamax (I think) as of yesterday. I have to say that everything is making me hysterical at this point.

I don't like her on meds at all and Topamax has a ton of side effects just like most meds do.

She's also still on Lexapro which the ped is willing to start weaning her from soon.

Her dizziness all started when I started to lower her Lexapro in April. So, I still think this is all related to the LExapro even though she's been back at her original dose as of the beginning of May. If it is migraines, I do think it's allergy induced migraines because her allergies are real bad right now.

The ped is trying to get Rach in this week to see the neurologist and not wait until the 30th, wihich is when her appt. is for.

That's the update. I'm pretty weary at this point. Just thought I'd put this out there to all of you to get your opinions/suggestions. It really does help a lot.

Hey Jodi, I have no idea what the difference is. I know that he does all sorts of orthodonics but honestly I try to avoid going there as much as possible as he's not covered by my insurance (but he was the only one I could find). To help me he made a splint for me that I had to wear all the time for a while and go in for frequent appointments where he'd adjust the appliance. Now I just wear it every night but I'm thinking that I'm going to have to go back because my jaw has started clicking again. Originally he suggested I'd have to get braces to readjust my jaw position but I'd already had them for teeth and he wasn't under my insurance so I never did end up getting it.Stacey> > >> > > Hi Marla,> > > You mentioned that your daughter wears braces and also has a device to help her jaw. therapy for my neck and upper back. Because the muscles in the jaw are significantly intertwined with our necks and upper backs, any change in jaw alignment (via braces or prosthetics) can affect our equilibrium. The inner ear is also closely tied to these muscles. > > > I have suffered with dizziness for quite awhile, but if I see my physical therapist or chiropractor and do at-home exercises, the dizziness almost always gets better. Hi Marla,It is good news to hear that you received some encouraging test results----but it's so hard that you still have no answers. I work with a woman who suffers from terrible migraines and it can be so difficult to find the right treatment path.As a person with multiple chemical sensitivities, I always want to check out whether you have any new renovations in your home, especially new carpet, since carpet gives off neurotoxic chemicals that can cause lots of problems for people. Also products like carpet shampoo, fragrances and pesticides can cause issues. You have probably already considered these and ruled them out, but I just thought that I would mention them just in case.I hope that you can find some solution for your daughter soon. It is a really bad pollen season here in Massachusetts too this year and that doesn't help. You will be in my thoughtsJeanineSCD 31/2 yearsceliacHi, just giving an update on my daughter who has had dizziness for 2 months. I just want to tell you all the latest regarding my daughter's dizziness.

We are Christians and I can't leave one crucial part of this out.

I had just read a verse in Isaiah that the Lord is saying"I will help you". Within an hour of reading that, I went to my nutritionist for something and she noticed that is on Zyrtec. That was a red flag for her. She gave me an article that says anti depressants and allergy meds are a drug interaction and some symptoms are dizziness and change in vision. So, we stopped the Zyrtec and have been lowering her lexapro as of this week to wean her off of it. We have a friend who has worked in a psych ward for 20 years and he thinks these anti depressants are awful when it comes to long term side effects. Rach has been on them for 4 years. She's 15.

The nutritionist put her on a few supplements that will help with withdrawals. and she is drinking warm water, raw honey, organic cinnamon and apple cider vinegar as a cleansing drink.

The docs put her on Topamax for migraines. and it made her lethargic. Really bad stuff for her so we stopped it after 2 pills. The side effects for that are suicidal thoughts. and it is one you have to wean off of. Crazy.

One other little bit of info. is that Rach's anxiety has always peaked in April, gone thru summer and into August and I've said it has to be allergy related but no one ever listened.

Well, if what the nutritionist says is true, then it all makes sense. Those are the months that she's always been on an allergy med for seasonal allergies. so if it's been a drug interaction, then I think we've found our answer.

I'll keep everyone posted. We are hoping and praying she sees some relief of her dizziness soon so that we know we're on the right track.

Just thought I would post this. It might help someone else out there.

Marla,

Take a look at Isaiah 28, beginning at verse 23. The Cumin mentioned was and is

used as a condiment. The Black Cumin (Nigella Sativa) was and is still used as a

spice and a medicine.

My daughter-in-law has a terrible time with vertigo. Since that is a symptom

Black Cumin is supposed to ease, I provided her with capsules of the essential

oil. She and my son just returned from a trip to Disney World. She told me she

had no problems, even going on the rides with her son.

The uses for Black Cumin as a medicine cover an awful lot of territory, from

croup to cancer.

It might help with your daughter's dizziness. I certainly hope so.

Even if it fails in this use, it's a good medicine to have around.
