Guest guest
Hey,There's a great book that can be very helpful with stuff like this, A Life Worth Breathing by Max Strom. I highly, highly recommend it :)Best! Annie, I'm no monk. I have ended up with partial bowel obstructions to over indulging. Some days I am good, others not so much. " I can't quit you " comes to mind when it comes to nuts, honey and dates. Misty- I am so tired with the addict attitude with these items. Now, since I make coconut yogurt I have honey and dates in the house and it is like beyond forbidden. Have you ever made spiced nuts and stuffed dates. Whoa! beyond delicious I loose all sense of proportion I inhabit a human shell. My hubby tells me I don't eat " that much " but that same " that much " gives me such a tummy ache and the runs that you would think I learn.. Having it in the house out of sight is a true excersize in I don't even know what to call it and at times I cave. They should just usher me to a clinic to give me a fix.. like seriously. In mourning full of loosing laughter with my fellows over the insanity of this addiction.. Jodi > > This idea of a nut-addict group made me smile. If I ever put my hand in the nut jar (my craziness right now is about brazil nut), I get uncontrolable and can eat so much of them it hurts. This week-end, I couldn't stop eating cherries and now i'm suffering... > > Maybe we could share our tricks to avoid cravings or to have a better control on portions and avoid excess ? > > I'll start : > - Between meals, I found that drinking tea is really helping with hunger. Green tea is working the best, but I also take mint or ginger when my guts are upset > - I hide sweet stuff (like honey) behind other non-attractive things in my cupboard, like the bottles of oil. So my eyes don't see it when I open the cupboard > - Never ever eat yogourt, or apple sauce or cheese directly in the container or out of the package. > - Freeze goodies as soon as they cooled down in induvidual portions > > Sometimes it's not always working though. I'm still doing the " I'll take two almonds and put the jar away " and 10 minutes later I'm still munching on them with zero self-control > > Damn. > Annie >
