Guest guest
My GI told me that the mucus production is the gut's way of protecting the lining from inflammation, which means, I think, that the chrons is active. I had mucus when my chrons was active years ago, but haven't seen any for about 14 years (my last attack) after which I found scd. I'm sure there must be other causes, ie., milk products. In any case, scd worked wonders for me and I've been fine for many years with no problems. Best wishes TONS of mucus Hi All,I have recently been experiencing a ton of mucus prior to BMs. Stools are formed and better than normal, but the mucus, tinged with a little blood is freaking me out. Some background:I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy 2 weeks ago. I had a colonic prior to these procedures for prep.I started taking S.boulardii a week ago.Could any of these be reason for the excessive mucus? Also, I am thinking of giving up my favorite food (yogurt) which is the only dairyI consume. Has anyone seen significant improvement upon giving up dairy?I would love to hear what people think.Thank you,-
Guest guest
It is due to inflammation but considering the procedures you have had, they were probably irritating. I would go back to stage 1-intro easy to handle foods. I did fine with yogurt, so only stop it if you have a problem with it. I think the probiotics in it are good.
