Lexapro is a form of Prozac without some of the side effects, such as diminished Libido. I have been on it for the second week now and have not had Carb cravings anymore than usual. Maybe you simply want some SEX. :0). But seriously, each of us responds differently to these meds and it is just a matter of finding what is right for you. Welbuterin is supposed to be good for cravings. Guest guest
Krissy, I lost weight on Wellbutrin each period of time I used it pre-op, and post-op, I haven't gained any while taking it. It works really well for me; I can tell the difference when I forget to take it for more than a day. Just make sure are prescribed the IR (instant release) formulation, NOT the XR (extended release). You will probably have to take it two or three times a day on the IR formulation, and I have to be careful to not take it after 4:30 pm, or risk having trouble sleeping. Otherwise, no issues, no weird cravings, not a lot of dry mouth/eyes, etc. Z Two years out yesterday! http://www.ziobro.us/index.html Wellbutrin/Lexpro Suggestions Please Bad me. Did not read a single post on Wellbutrin last week and now the Dr. is considerring placing me on it. Any reviews from the community? Just tried Lexpro. Had MASSIVE Sugar Carb Cravings! Not just the potatoe/corn/cracker/bread variety but the DAMN I WANT A DONUT kind. Anything out there actually relieve depression without giving cravings other than Prozac? Prozac has worked the best so far diet wise but there are some other side effects I am attempting to avoid. krissy
Guest guest
I love Wellbutrin. I had little to no cravings with it. I was one of those unfortunates that actually gained weight on Prozac. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas SRVG 7/16/01 Dr. Ritter/Dr. Bryce On Thu, 18 Sep 2003 20:53:55 -0000 " krissy " writes: > Bad me. Not just the > potatoe/corn/cracker/bread variety but the DAMN I WANT A DONUT kind. I'm on week two of Lexapro and there are two things I keep repeating... I'd mug a drug dealer for some speed (I'm so tired, my butt is just dragging), and I'd mug a little kid for their potato chips. I hadn't had any real carb cravings since my surgery (was lucky in that way), but I was also on Wellbutrin. I came off of it because I felt like it wasn't working anymore. Maybe it was, but Ihad gotten used to the feeling. Who knows? I do know what you mean about the Lexapro though.... Effexor was even worse for me... I did nothing but eat and sleep. Guest guest
I do well on Wellbutrin. I am supposed to take it 3 times a day, but usually forget my middle of the day dose. The doc that put me on it called it " Sex, drugs and rock and roll " ...because it didn't affect your sex life (for MOST...YMMV)...it doesn't interfere with other drugs and after you have been on it awhile you feel like Rockin and Rollin! My issues are more with anxiety so I have switched to Zoloft now. Seem to be going well... Have not noticed cravings, that would stink though. Great, now I am getting nervous over it (kidding).
