Checking in on my buddies to see how ya'lls preparation is going for

surgery. I can't believe our big day is getting so close! I think I

have finally gotten free from that time warp of the days seeming to

stand still! We are the last remaining from the June Surgery Group! We

get to bring up the rear! I hope you enjoy your final days and I don't

know about ya'll, but food is on my mind 24/7...(haha)

Best Wishes,

Hi ,

I'm doing good. It really hasn't hit me yet that surgery is in only 12

days. I have dinner plans almost every night next week with friends.

I am going to eat everything that I will miss eating after surgery :)

Hi y'all!

I spoke to my surgeon's office today and it's official. I'll be

joining you. After a few delays, my surgery will finally be done on

June 29. Now I can't wait to get it over with and if all goes well

(I'm confident it will), I'll finally be able to eat more normally

again. A couple more pre-op appointments and our surgeries will be

here before we know it.

Hi!

I had my last pre-op appointment yesterday. My surgery is on the

24th....That's 8 days from now. Yikes. I slaept all day today. I think

I am either just trying to get time to go faster, or I am avoiding the

whole thing. I really am okay, just a bit scared and nervous. I don't

do very well with anything that is looming.

Take care!

Fay

, Food...I couldn't pass the chocolate donut yesterday! I

figure it would be a long time before I could eat that again - so I

indulged. Trying to finish up the last minute odds and ends. I

still need to check the health food store, try a few more recipes,

do the legal things (durable medical power of attorney, advanced

directive, etc)and check my lists. Still haven't figured what to

wear home from hospital.

I had to work on staffing, etc for our little library where people

do genealogy research. My volunteer work takes almost as much time

as when I worked full time. So much for more time when you retire!!

Tomorrow I have to be here when they come to spray (pest control).

Here in Texas - sometimes even the bugs are Texas size!! So guess

I'd better chase around in am.

Since my last visit with OS before surgery is Wed - I've got to

finish my list of questions. I think they hate to see me pull my

list out!!

At least at this time next week I should be on the other side,

though probrably not too with it since they told me they plan to

leave all the tubes in - ugh. The quicker the pull them the better,

but they said with my history (asthma, sleep apenea) they want to

leave them in overnight.

As long as I don't have any vomiting I'll do fine. Whatever my

anesthesiologist did when I had my reconstructive surgery done, it

worked as it was the first time I didn't come out vomiting. Just

the shakes - and boy, do those warm blankets feel good. I'm telling

them to keep plenty of those handy as I'm always cold!!

And I'm already anticipating the " ups & downs " after surgery, some

of which is due to the steriods given after surgery.

I just have to keep this " old body " in shape a few more days-got to

get through the surgery this time!! I awoke on Tues with upper back

pain (large herniated disc at C6-7). I've been off the anti-

inflammatories in prep for surgery. I did the warm water therapy

pool Wed. and will try again on Mon if I have time. With tylenol

and not using the left arm too much it's getting better. I just

have to stop myself from any major lifting which is hard as all my

life I've done it.

I'll update you on Wed after my OS & OD visit. Soon the group on

this caboose will be leaving the station.

Wa-hoo! . It's been a long haul for you, and I'm keeping my

fingers crossed that this will be your last round of, um, stuff!
