Guest guest
I saw my PCP today who is very knowledgeable on gastric bypass care to include having several patients who have had the surgery. I still need to occasionally (once or twice a week) take vioxx for severe lower back pain (I tried to go cold turkey after developing a pouch ulcer but quality of life with back pain sucks), and was looking for some alternative other than the 2 inhibitors. He suggested that I try bextra (a bit easier on the tummy than vioxx but still same class) and to take cytotec 3 times a day. The cytotec coats the stomach and would protect the pouch from the cox 2 inhibitor. Has anyone used cytotec with an anti-inflamatory or know of it? Obviously the best course of action, and PCP agrees, is to not use anti-inflamatories at all, but not an option here....
