Hi Leah welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all.

Another note to all you pre-op people. My surgeon for the surgery

was Dr. McColgan at Laparoscopic Bariatric Specialists in

Long Beach, CA. They're totally underrated. I was going to get my

surgery done with Alan Wittgrove, but even with a really good Blue

Cross California PPO, I had to fork out $8K for the surgery, which I

balked at. Dr. McColgan and his colleagues were trained by the folks

down at Alvarado, and they do the surgery exactly the same way, and

they take Blue Cross California. They're also fantastic surgeons,

very friendly, and quite strict about your diet so that you can get

as much success from your surgery as you can possibly manage.

They also have a month-long waitlist. Or at least, they did when I

got the surgery. Alvarado's was longer, Pacific Bariatric was about

8 months, the surgeon at Poway Hospital was really long...these guys

took me right away.

My only complaint is that the hospital, Bellflower Hospital, is kind

of old and shoddy. But I got good care while I was there, so it's

all good.

So for those of you in Southern Cali looking for great surgeons to do

this, check out LBS. I forget the website, but I think if you google

on the name you'll find it...

Good luck!

>Thanks Kim I ive in satsuma Yea I knw yu have never heard of it! how about

Palatka?? St Augustine Yeah I live 28 miles west of st Augustine in the woods. I

lived in Ga in 2000. I lived in pembroke near hinesville and grew up in

savannah. So I am a georgia girl in though I was born in Key West, FL How did

you like your dr?? What kind of after care have you had and when did you have

your surgery?? I know questions questions. I have seen two drs the first one I

did not like and now I found out that he has no stucture to his program and not

much support. I saw Dr Jefferson Vaughn in Jupiter, FL and I like him it is just

so far away and I can do anything until this stress test is over, which is monday

if they don't mess up again. I am just scared that I will have this and it will

not work for me. The last DR told me 15% of the time it will not work. I can;t

afford health wise for it not to work. I am a wreck I want it then I don't tell

me I am crazy right. oh well thanks for the info.
