Guest guest
Hi All! I am scheduled for the sarpe on aug 4 and was wondering if any of you have had this done. If so, could you letme know what I am getting myself into...Will there really be a gap in my front teeth and if so, how long will it last? Thanks
Guest guest
I haven't, and it seems to me there are not so many people having this as there were back in 2001, when I first started considering all these things. But yes, there are many people who do have it. And yes, you generally do get a gap (always do, far as I know) once you start opening up the expander... It can be the size of a tooth. Once your ortho starts closing it, though, it generally closes up rapidly. As in some have seen the difference in the time it took to get home after the ortho starts closing it. It astounds me that most people report that turning the key on the expander is not painful, but that's the case. If you want to see an example of such a space, there are some photographs (including the after, if I'm remembering right) on site 2. I think they're under LadyB -- I'll have to check to be sure of the name, though because she changed it while she was in process, and I can't remember which way they're posted. And you'll have to join the site to get access to the photos, but that's no big deal. Cammie > Hi All! > I am scheduled for the sarpe on aug 4 and was wondering if any of you > have had this done.
