Well hello Trina!

You have come so far. I'm really proud of you. Doing the protein does more

than jumpstart weight loss. It really gives your ole liver and filtering

system a break because it's predigested protein and they don't have to work

so hard all the time on the high protein diet that is filled with complex

meats like steak and the like. Also, it's very hard to get in all your

protein with this operation if you don't do protein shakes. Atleast I can't

get it all in without them. A palm size of meat is about 7 grams of

protein. A proximal needs to be getting about 70 grams or so. I shoot for

80 to 90. It's so GREAT that you found some protein shakes you like. I was

so happy today, I got my samples on friday, my hubby tried two and liked

one. I was like THANK THE LORD! lol.

To keep you from grazing, try to increase your meals. I notice that you

just have like 3 meals down...you should be eating 5 small meals a day. I

eat about 5 or 6, I listen to my body. If I feel the need to " graze " , I go

make some raw veggies up and it's amazing how my grazing tooth ends lol

after one piece of celery. Now if that were crackers and stuff, I'd have

eaten the whole plate. Just a thought. It works for me about 70 percent of

the time. Also, sunflower seeds that you have to actually crack open.

Sometimes that helps during those times. Sometimes gum helps too.

Don't worry about not getting a distal. You are doing fantastic. You

already are learning what is important to do and are ahead of where most ppl

are at. I am a proximal and I'm at goal. I only got to goal learning and

keeping an open mind and listening to the ppl here on what works and what

does not. So keep the chin up. Also, I encourage you to read this about

the adjustments of your pouch and your body concerning your vitamins:

www.bariactricsupplementsystem.com

I'm encouraging you to read that one section of what your body is missing

since you got some of that stuff inside you rerouted. The vitamins you are

taking aren't going to cut it long term. Even if you do not get these

vitamins, please please read it and go for vitamins that are better for you.

You will notice a difference I promise :) . We just can't necessarily take

the same stuff that normal ppl take. We not only malabsorb most things we

put into our body but certain things were bypassed, leaving us with no way

to get those vitamins even out of a regular vitamin. I only point ppl to

that page not to force the vitamins on them but because it has all the info

compacted there that I think is relevant without being too much info to take

in.

You are doing great hun..keep up the good work and always strive to learn

more about your health. Sometimes surgeons don't know it all in that

area...this is certainly a great step for you to have come here...learn from

all the folks it's really valuable :) . Have a great day.

Ahh ok I remember now what I was thinking. Was a palm size that you would

normally eat of meat to equal what you should have..which would be about 4

oz (not grams) = 4 blocks of protein in the zone for a meal sitting. Thanks

for mentioning that..I'd probably have caught it later in my rereading

scratching my head on why I said that lol. I have a hard time eating meat

so I don't do it often. I stick to canned tuna and chicken, some seafood,

and some really tender chickens when I do.
