Alyssa,

I'm afraid you can't take LDN until you are off prednisone. They work against each other.

I can understand your parent's concern, but the mechanism of action of LDN should not interfere with any growth or sex hormone that is important to your growth and development. In fact, it doesn't interfere with any hormone in the body at all.

As previously mentioned, Dr. McCandless has her whole family on LDN, including her grandkids. I don't think she would be prescribing it to young autistic children if it did interfere with their growth. There is a book your parents ( and you!) can read, called, "The Promise of LDN". You can find it on Amazon. Maybe it would help your parents understand a little better.

Alyssa is on 12.5 mg of Prednisone. I have seen people here say they can take it

at 10mg. Is that correct? Hopefully she could wean to 10mg if the option is

considered.

I'm afraid you can't take LDN until you are off prednisone. They work against each other.Same with the azathioprine, correct? I would definitely wait until I'm off both to start the LDN. I'd be getting off them anyways, because I'd only be taking LDN if the azathioprine wasn't working. Thanks for your input Terry!
