Guest guest
Hi Vicki, What I have found here and on other groups is such an inspiration for all of us new and getting ready for surgery. You have done such a swell job this past year, you lost over 200 lbs and you've made a difference in your life! HIGH FIVE YA!!! You've certainly been blessed!!! All I could suggest as far as feeling hungry/eating all the time is find something else to do with your hands. I found crafts helped me, yard/gardening work and exercising. I also have heard of chewing gum helps. Gas...I was told to get beano or phayzeme to help with the gas problems. Might be something your eating also giving your the discomfort. Hugs, in AL. Guest guest
Hey Vicki Lou, Ain't this cool??? We share a middle name!!! I was almost named Bobbi Lou but my Mom like the Lou idea. Bobbi would have been after my dad . Have you heard that classic rock song (my mind is dead right now and memory jumped out the window) where they say something about a girl named Lou? My husband likes to sing it to me occasionally and his older brother didn't believe me what my name was so had to prove it with my license. Geesh...guys!!! Your really welcomed for the information and I just like to help other's if I hear of something that might be good to try. Hope it helps you! Surgery is scheduled for Sept. 7th and I am ready for it...just nervous and alittle scared of the unknown. Thanks for the prayers cause I have the faith I just have the fear too. I know since I am a BIG baby that it will be rough but I will survive and come out on top of the evil fat gene. I'd like to keep in touch also and you can reach me at my yahoo address iamllu@. I love this group so much and love getting emails too...hint hint...LOL!!! Hugs, Lou in AL.
Guest guest
vicki, thanks for your posting. I too am afraid that I'm approaching the end of the honeymoon. My weight loss has really slowed over the last month or so and I find myself reaching for snacks and have actually munched on sweets that I once thought I'd never taste again. Yes, my volume intake is now probably 8-10 oz be meal, calorie wise I probably average 1200-1600 per day. What I have noticed, is that I've backed off on the water intake so my pouch is full during those times of snacking. So I'm going to go back to reaching for the water when I start feeling the munchies coming on. At 7 months Post-op I still have over 50 pounds to go for my goal, so I've got to stick with " the plan " . Continuing to exercise and pace myself at each meal has really been the two main focus' of the past month. Thankfully, I do not have to remind myself of my previous life just 7 short months ago. I was 418 pounds and miserable, a train wreck waiting to happen. Each morning when I put on my new clothes, I still see an old shirt an pants that I have hanging in my closet just for this purpose. There is no way that I want to return to where I was mentally or physically. If you're inclined to, take a look at the pictures in the Ray W - Omaha folder to see what I'm talking about. > Hi! Everyone, I'm new to the group, just read about the honey moon period ending >< SNIP ><
