Guest guest
Just a little pep talk for those out there who believe that there is an 18 month " grace period " or that losing stops after two years. I'm still losing little by little even though I am approaching three years. If I am still overweight and I am eating right and exercising, I will still lose weight. There is no magic wand that makes it stop. However, the free ride I had during the first six months was definitely over long ago. My weight loss now is based on good habits. Cheaters will not lose. Once we have lost a large amount, it's hard to trick the body..sneak an extra Oreo, pay the price. At 370 pounds, sneaking an Oreo wouldn't even make a dent in my daily calorie intake. So if you are still higher than you want, two things: First, is your goal weight reasonable;i.e. can you comfortably put in more effort to lose more weight and maintain that level of effort in the long run, or are you honestly at the effort level now that you feel you can sustain? Secondly, if you do want to lose more, have you gone over your habits with a fine tooth comb? Give yourself a tune-up and you'll probably start losing again. My body got " used " to my routine. I had to shake it up by changing some of the things I ate instead of eating the same old thing, and by changing around my exercise routine. It gave my body the kick in the butt it needed to get moving again. That's my input, take it or leave it. Today's a new day. Make the most of it!!! Smiles, Vicki A.
