Guest guest
Maggi, I know that you will somehow find that inner strength to let the adult Maggie shine thru and take care of the scared little girl within. I can relate. Pat Iurato Nevada pre op

Guest guest
I'm feeling a little down now after a telephone conversation with my surgeon's business manager. I called to see if they took CareCredit (they don't) or had any other payment options (they don't). Then I asked, if I had them bill insurance, when would the balance be due? and she said before surgery. And then she said that if I had them bill insurance, my out-of-pocket cost for the surgery would be $3,700, at least for the surgeon's portion. The hospital and anaesthesiologist would be separate, although insurance would probably cover them more than my surgery (?). And then we got into whole sticky issue of my insurance plan changing providers seven days before my surgery is scheduled. And the fact that I can't get a straight answer out of anybody about how much I can expect to be reimbursed. Long story short, this conversation raised more questions than it answered, and I may have to reschedule because if I have the surgery in the hospital I can't have it on the same day as if I had it in their facility. Which completely screws everything up since we've already bought our airline tickets and made all sorts of plans. I probably shouldn't even consider this option at this point, because saving money -- IF that is the case -- might not be worth the hassle. But then I'm left with trying to come up with $4,000 ASAP. It's so frustrating because I can pay it back immediately with my flex-spending account, but no one cares about that, of course. I wouldn't be having this problem if I'd had the surgery when I'd planned, next winter, but since I'm ready early, now I'm scrambling. Ugh, sorry, I just had to vent. I'm so frustrated. Guest guest
Luna Sorry you are having so much trouble with this. I know that this whole process turned out to be more difficult than I had originally anticipated. I thought you have your surgery, you pay your copays, you get your disability time from work, and everything goes smoothly. Yeah right! If only life were that easy. I am currently battling with my work's disability claims group. They are denying my claim for short term disability. I am returning to work on Tuesday, which is 6 weeks out of work for me. My OS didn't want me going back until my splint was removed, and my work is supposed to cover up to 9 months of disibility at full pay. I thought this would be no problem, but I was obviously wrong. They keep asking to provide more information, and every time I give them what they want, they ask for something different. It is like we are playing a game. I think that they hope I will eventually get frustrated and just give up. They have no idea who they are dealing with (an extremely emotional women who has not eaten real food for 6 weeks)!! I hope that all works out for you. This whole process can be totally exhausting, and more painful than the actual surgery! > I'm feeling a little down now after a telephone conversation with my > surgeon's business manager. It's been a lot of work trying to get everything organized in a short amount of time, and then she suggests rescheduling ... because they failed to give me the full information that I needed to make a decision. Aaaaaugh!!! What type (upper/lower?) of surgery did you have? Good luck on your battle. Luna
Guest guest
Just keep in mind that when dealing with insurance companies, their job is to deny your claim. They are commissioned on the numebr of clims rejected, not hte numebr of satisfied customers. If they guranteed a satisfied customer every time they woudl be out of business. With that said, they can deny til teh cows come hom but if you're entitled to a claim, eventualy you will strike the right chord and get your moeny...kepp claiming...! cfarero <no_reply > wrote: Luna Sorry you are having so much trouble with this. Guest guest
The funny thing is that my insurance didn't give me any trouble throughout this entire process. It is the group through my work that handles disibility claims that is giving me a hard time. For once, the insurance company actually came through. > > I'm feeling a little down now after a telephone conversation with > my > > surgeon's business manager.
