Guest guest
, I was wondering about you and how you were doing. You do not sound like a whiney baby. You sound like you had a hell of a nightmare. You poor thing! I was very paranoid about the vomiting because I've had extreme vomiting after previous operations so I made sure that they gave me Fomatidine to take before the surgery. One pill the night before and one on the morning of the surgery with a very little sip of water. I also made sure to eat a very LIGHT meal the night before surgery just in case. Well for the first time out of all my surgeries I did not get nauseaus at all or vomit so I guess it did the trick. I'm so sorry that you had to go through all the nightmare and the catherer business, my goodness! Horrible! Good to hear that you are downing the horrible drink that is otherwise known as Boost. I can't stand it. And how about all those liquid meds they have us taking. I feel like vomiting every time I take them. I dread it. Oh, and yes, I was wondering about the talking with the splint because I am down right incomprehensible! Every time I say something my mother pretends she's understood me but I know she's just doing it just to make me feel better because the look on her face says it all i.e. what on earth is she saying?! Well, that felt good to get it off my chest and there I was, meaning to reply with some reassuring words for the trials and tribulations you've had to go through. I guess the best thing I can say is hang in there, we're all in this with you! Sara > Hi all, > > I haven't posted since the day before my surgery just because it's > been pretty rough. Guest guest
, I appreciate the honesty of your post. It really does suck, doesn't it? <shrug> Some days are just better than others. I'm hoping you have more good ones than not. And no ... no one ever *really* learns how to talk with a splint in! I've got 2 1/2 weeks to go until my 8 weeks mark. And then I'm hoping and praying it really comes out!!! We'll see. Hang in there, Carol > Hi all, > > I haven't posted since the day before my surgery just because it's > been pretty rough. Guest guest
Sara & , Oh my goodness, yes! I can't stand it when someone just smiles and nods and pretends to have understood what I just said. And then as the conversation progresses, they realize that I just realized - that they didn't hear me ... and then I'm frustrated and the conversation either becomes me angrily trying to reiterate what I've already said or the conversation is over. I cannot wait to be able to talk ... someday. Carol > > Hi all, > > > > I haven't posted since the day before my surgery just because it's > > been pretty rough.
