Guest guest
Don't be discouraged about feeling badly at this stage of the diet. One can have a few bad spells along the way. It is part of the process. For me, flare up is increased GI problems, difficulty sleeping, feeling emotionally out of whack. I think it is a little different for everyone. It describes GI symptoms, but it is a whole body thing to me. Thank goodness the blips on SCD were way less difficult than the original episode that brought me to SCD. During these times, go back to the intro-stage 1 easily digested foods. I would use a lot of bone broth soup. Hang in there. Sounds like it could be a 6 month flare - a period when your symptoms regress. The best way to deal with it is to go back to intro food or all your easiest to digest food for a few days - hit it hard as soon as possible - and go on from there, adding foods back in gently, having a lot of broth. Take epsom baths daily if you can. Maybe add in pepto bismal, depending on your symptoms. If fever and chills are part of your symptom set, I would expect you'd have them in a flare as well. Everyone has variations, but that is not out of the way at all. They are fairly typical at least for symptoms of UC. So I imagine Crohn's as well. BTW, what is your name? Guest guest
Thank you Mara and PJ! I am very comforted by your responses….I was beginning to question whether there was something going on unrelated to crohns, and no one responded that they experience fever and chills the first time I posted. Thank you so much for your responses! -Ruth
