Guest guest
Sara My doctor wanted me to get at least 1500 calories a day. That equates to abour 5 Ensures. There was no way that was going to happen, even now that I feel better. I spoke with my doctor about this again when I got unwired, and I let him know that I was only getting between 800 and 1000 calories per day. He said that as long as I was feeling okay (not weak or sick) then that was okay for this short period of time. He does not seem too concerned about it. Like I said, I lost 10 pounds in the first week (mostly water weight). After that, it was about 2 pounds per week, which is a natural pace for losing weight. As for being emotional, I found that I was most emotional when it came to my boyfriend. It was hard to go through a major surgery without having him here with me. He would call and ask how I was doing, and I would just start to cry. The 1st few days after surgery, I just wanted him to leave because I kept trying to talk to him. When I felt better, all I wanted was for him to come back home because I missed him taking care of me. Even 6 weeks post op, I tend to be a bit more emotional than I used to be, but it is definitely getting better. > > Sara > > > > Don't worry too much about the weight loss.
