Guest guest
.. hi anna, i get ivig every 3 weeks. it takes 8 hours for my infusion, i have been walking better and overall feeling better. it is VERY IMPORTANT TO DRINK WATER THE DAY BEFORE, DAY OF, AND THE DAY AFTER TO MINIMIZE THE CHANCES OF HEADACHE. this is the worst side effect that i am aware of. i myself do not get the headace, but i know someone that does. HYDRATION IS A MUST!!! I HAVE HAD WAY MORE ENERGY THAN I HAVE HAD IN 3 YEARS. WAY WORTH IT!!! my infusion takes so long because i can only tolerate a very low rate to have it infused,. they tried to do it faster and i started to go into renal failure. well good luck with everything, and if you think you drink enough, DRINK MORE!!! WATER IS BEST BECAUSE IT GOES THROUGH YOUR SYSTEM FASTER. To: Neurosarcoidosis Sent: Mon, July 5, 2010 4:27:11 PMSubject: IVIG side effects I had the IVIG procedure on 6/15 & 6/16, 4 1/2 hrs. each. The night of the 16th I had a terrible headache that Tylenol would not reduce. I ended up in ER on the 17th for another 4 1/2 hrs. The headache was addressed but the impact to my energy level was significant and I'm still recovering. What's the experience some of you have had with the IVIG procedure & side effects, positive & negative? Any idea how long energy drain will continue? Did the IVIG improve your condition? Thanks. Guest guest
, I see we've gotten one response to your post; hopefully others out there with this experience will give you some input. I'm not very familiar with the procedure & possible complications or side effects. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine.
