Re: Lumbar puncture - When to ask for a blood patch?

Hi all! Thanks so much for the support! I held off until Sunday morning and didn't have the procedure yesterday afternoon (it's now Tues morn). I'm currently sitting up in bed and feeling SO MUCH better!! The nurses in my ward (I'm a `border' in the gastro ward because there was no room elsewhere) are in a little bit of shock because I was on my back with sheets over my head and not so talkative all that time prior to the op.... How amazing that something so little can make so much difference!!! Hopefully the LB was worth all the trouble (: Sherriexx

Glad you got relief. It is amazing, isn't it? Unfortunately, some docs make you wait so long before they'll do the blood patch. I'm not supposed to drink caffeine because of a rapid heart beat, so if that happened to me now I guess I'd just have to badger them until they did the patch.
