Joanne,

Do you have any skeletal wires in that area? Hmmm, an extration

site ... maybe not. I just wanted to throw in my two cents because I

had the same question just after my surgery. It felt like a sliver of

bone was right under my chin skin. Turned out to be one of the sites

for my skeletal wires and the " scabbing " that was occuring. Maybe

that could be it ... some sort of " scabbing " of the tissue?

Sorry if I'm not much help.

I hope your doctor can give you a quick answer and relieve your

concerns.

All the best,

Carol

Hi Carol, My surgery won't be for about a year, so I don't think so. It

really is like just a hard bump underneath the surface. Thanks

though :) I'm calling the office in the am.

~Joanne :)

Good idea to call the OS. I had a hard tender bump over where he

inserted my screws through my cheek and it was a small infection,

cured easily by some Amoxycillin. I also thought it was something

wrong with my screw. See what he says tomorrow...

Joanne,

Do you have stitches near any of your extraction sites? I did and I

have one of those tender bumps you mentioned. I think it's scar

tissue too but I am going to ask my OS tomorrow when I see him. We

can compare notes on what our doctors say:-)

Joanne,

No, I guess not then. :) Sorry, I didn't realize you were pre-

surgery. It's hard to keep track around here sometimes.

I hope it works out for you,

joanne,

it was a good thing you got that bump looked at, huh? that's

crazy...a bone fragment! i would have gone with the second option,

too...just letting it resolve itself seems a little if-y.

i guess when it doubt...it's always best to call the professionals!

Thanks Carol, I got it taken care of, turned out to be a piece of bone.

Should be sore over the next few days, but will be OK :)
