Guest guest
Mine did *not* hurt at all. It was quite relaxing....sat in an easy chair and read for about 5 hours. I got tested 3 weeks later and all was well. It doesn't constipate because it does not go through the digestive system. I felt gradually better over a few days. in Austin RNY April 1998 infusion confusion > Hi there.. > To anyone out there who has had an iron infusion .... could you please tell me what it was like? Guest guest
> : > > I just finished a series of 23 iron infusions over the past three months and I'm finally NORMAL!!!! (in that department at least). .........He used a very small needle with a catheter attached and pushed the iron through there. Had it done in the same arm, same place for all 23 injections with no problems. <<< Glad you are feeling better, Regina, but I am a bit confused. Did you have IV iron infusions or injections of iron into the muscle with a syringe? Sheri In Sunny Florida

Did you have IV iron infusions or injections of iron into the muscle with a syringe? =========================================================== Sherri: He actually inserted a catheter into my vein and used a syringe to push it through the catheter. If you get the IM injections the surrounding tissue tends to change color and this is how he avoids it. Very tiny needle with about 6 inch long tubing that he attaches the syringe to and pushes it. Never felt a thing, but better. : ) Regina
