Guest guest
Thanks Dee, The one thing I'm glad about is that I'm over the denial stage. Even when I had my dentist tell me I had a problem about 2 years ago I still denied it was. Part of it was that I jut got used to it. Since that time, I've been having other problems that I just denied existed. A sore jaw, especially at the joints. Sometimes feeling like it was sprained plus headaches from the strain there. More recently, I've been waking up every morning with a headache and not feeling like I had any sleep no matter how long I slept. It always seemed like I had slept through the night, but something was clearly wrong. My wife began to notice breathing irregularities while sleeping, even scaring her a few times. It was really bad two weekends ago when I was having allergy problems on top of this. She said it sounded like I was gurgling. After all this, I embarked on an investigation into finding out what was wrong with me. Of course in the 'Google Age' I started searching for what could be causing these problems. What came up was sleep apnea of course, but other symptoms including chronic jaw pain, open bite, protruding jaw, under bite, inability to make lips meet without an effort, and chronic mouth breathing. I thought " Great. This sounds like me, maybe there is a solution? " Of course, the solution was Orthognathic Surgery. So at that point, I said forget it and went into denial again. Until I got fed up eating a sub this week and finally said to myself " enough! " . So, I made an appointment for my dentist on Friday, June 24. Going through all this, I've realized I've made two mistakes. The first one was not visiting a dentist for almost 16 years. Although I did not have any tooth decay or cavity problems. My fear of dentists actually made me very careful about how I cleaned my teeth so I would avoid the dentist. But, this problem could have been caught when I was a lot younger. It wasn't that I chose to ignore it, it was pure ignorance initially. The second one was refusing treatment a few years back and being in a state of denial since then. I'll let you all know how it goes. I can't believe how helpful everyone is in this group. Cary > Cary as far as the age factor...I don't think it matters. I'll be 36 > in August and don't regret what I have done. My son is almost 10 and > we have been seeing the orthodontist on him for a year. I won't say > that what I have been through has been bad, but if I can prevent him > from going through everything (surgeries) I will do it. They should be > able to correct his all with braces. Only time will tell. > > I guess that's it for my response. It doesn't pay to get behind on > the posts!!!!! Have a good day.
Guest guest
No problem, I hope the interviewing goes well I actually went to my in-laws camp to deliver some bunk beds for them. It's about 2 hours away from here and it's in the middle of no where. We did see 3 moose...I can't say that I've been to their camp with out seeing at least one moose. No, I haven't gone on my Scrapbookers weekend yet. I actually go Friday July 15 and come back Saturday the 16th and then have Surgery that Monday. I was suppose to go through Sunday, but I need some time with my kids and to get my work squared away for the week, so I driving back Saturday night. It's about a 3 hour drive. I wish it wasn't so close to my surgery, but that's when it is and I had already booked it before my surgery. It will be a good thing to keep my mind of things. With kids and my jobs there never seems to be time for me, but that's ok, they are only young once. At least all the jobs are flexible and I come and go as I please. I can work when I want as long as I get my work done. I have a laptop and everything I do is mobile. THANKFULLY I worked at camp, but just didn't have internet access. > Thanks Dee for the congrats!
