Guest guest
I love to browse around there, but I always buy their B-12 sublinguals because they dissolve really fast, much better than TwinLabs. in NJ ********************* > I recently moved to a new city/state and found a Trader Joes in the > neighborhood. Guest guest
Trader Joes has a pretty good whey protein powder, Detour bars, Uturn bars and lots of other great stuff. Spend some time browsing. I think you'll enjoy the store! Thanks - Frozen fish (shrimp, salmon, tilapia, etc.) - Frozen veggies and fruit. A lot of the same things you can buy in any grocery store, but also some unique things. They have a " soycutash, " made with corn and soybeans instead of corn and lima beans, and also plain soybeans both in and out of the shell. They have really skinny green beans (haricorts verts), frozen mango, berries, mushrooms, sweet potato fries, other fun things to try. They have plain frozen brown rice that you can nuke in 3 minutes. - A great selection of nuts at good prices. You can get raw and roasted, salted or unsalted, and also some interesting trail mixes (though they often have high sugar ingredients). - Good coffees - Whole wheat pasta. I also bought some low-carb pasta there but haven't tried it yet. - Some interesting cereals. There's one called " High Low " , fairly high in protein and low in carbs (at least for a cold cereal). They also have a soy protein-fortified instant oatmeal that's decent. - A fairly good selection and decent prices on vitamins, protein supplements, etc. I get my B-vitamin dots there. - Good cheeses (try the low-fat Jarlsberg), olives, olive oils. - Lots of things that are nice when you're entertaining or want to make something a little fancier but without doing a lot of scratch cooking, things like bottled and jarred sauces, lots of desserts (and small-size frozen cakes and pies, which can be handy). At the holidays they have beautiful dried fruit trays. There are lots of convenience-type foods. Their whole grain sesame pretzel nuggets are a favorite indulgence food lately. They have nice plants and flowers that can sometimes be pretty good prices. - I haven't bought too many of their breads, but did notice that they have a lot more in the way of 100% whole wheat things, including English muffins and hamburger buns. Check out their flier at the expected URL. Celia
