Guest guest
Come on over! I put coconut oil in my coffee sometimes and then I'll put the coffee over ice. That oil balls up so fast! So I am wondering just what it will do when frozen and rethawed. Hopefully nothing since it's not facing an oil vs. water scenario...You can always share the rest of your pie with me -Joanna>> Thanks Marla. > > I bet you could freeze it. Guest guest
I've made a couple of raw recipes that are very similar.Hey Stacey! I would really rather eat my nuts raw, since I'm soaking them anyways AND I have a dehydrator I can use =) Do you have any raw cracker/cookie recipes for the dehydrator? Guest guest
You could probably portion it before you freeze it to make it easier. I do that with almost everything. Debbie 41 cd
Guest guest
I'm thinking that this pie has way too much coconut oil in it for me! I had a bad morning - could have just been a coincidence?? I am freezing a piece to see how it turns out and I'll try it in a couple of days. But I think I need to give myself a break! Guest guest
I was wondering how it would taste with half coconut oil and half cocoa butter. Or, as I said the other day, some gelatin, too. I'm near Raleigh, NC. I wonder how many people actually live right around me that are on the SCD, and I have no idea! I think the next edition of BTVC should have an insert that tells anyone starting the diet to join a Yahoo group to connect with nearby people! Guest guest
Thanks. I have eaten all of these and have done fine before. Maybe it was the combination of all at one time!MarlaSent: Saturday, June 19, 2010 5:51 PMTo: BTVC-SCD Subject: Re: Recipe: Strawberry Cream Pie Marla, Your D could very well be from just two pieces of pie. It has a lot of potentially problematic ingredients for those who are sensitive. Cashews, coconut, seeds from the strawberries. Or sometimes it's the combination of several hard to digest ingredients even though they don't cause problems individually. I really hope you feel better. - > > Ok - the pie freezes and thaws fine. I just decided though that it's probably not my favorite dessert. AND, I've had D problems all week. I really only ate 2 pieces of the pie so I don't think that's the culprit...but who knows!! > > Marla > IBS-D 20 yrs > Questran > SCD 11/09 > > > From: Misty > Sent: Tuesday, June 15, 2010 3:54 PM > To: BTVC-SCD > Subject: Recipe: Strawberry Cream Pie > > > > I can't make this until the weekend, but I follow Tropical Traditions on Twitter and they just posted this recipe. It's SCD YAY and looks so yummy and with all those beautiful strawberries in season. MMM I bet it'd be good without the honey too. Or, coconut meat in place of the strawberries. Or lemons. Mmmm.
