Guest guest
Hi I remember seeing some of your posts right after surgery; sorry to hear you're still having such a rough time, that must be difficult. I had a dental cleaning at 3 months post op I think, and after I'd explained the situation to the dental hygienist she was very concientious to make sure that my jaw wasn't tired from being held open so long. Hopefully if you explain your concerns to your dentist they'll be equally patient with you And if it's really too painful, well, you can always go back later; I'm sure another month with no cleaning won't hurt your teeth too too much more. I bet your dentist has dealt with your kind of situation before, and will hopefully have a great solution for you!! Hopefully the exercises your OS has you doing will help loosen up those muscles and you'll stop getting headaches. My OS has me doing similar exercises, and personally i find the more i do them the less stiff my joint is. The only problem now is that, when I complained that I'd had this sudden increase in soreness in one of my joints, he told me to stretch more. I also see a orofacial myologist (for tongue thrust), and when I mentioned my sore joint to her, she said that the WORST thing to do is to stretch it. So now I don't know what to do, stretch or not stretch...and everyday my joint is more sore. I called my OS's office today from work to try and get an appt to see him, and she couldn't fit me in until next Friday... when the receptionist said that, and I realized I had to put up with this for at least another week I just burst into tears and had to run out of my shared office. I can only imagine what my coworker was thinking about all of this...oh well. - > Hi . I remember reading your posts. I was 4 months post op > yesterday. I had upper, lower, genio. Guest guest
Oh, ... I'm sorry things are so frustrating for you! It's so hard to know what professional is " right! " I am always impressed when I hear someone was referred to a myofunctional therapist. I knew nothing about this profession until my OD referred me, and I have already seen the benefits of just my initial visit with my therapist! I can't wait to see her regularly... I'm just waiting for her to have an opening for me! I hope you feel better! Take a break and enjoy the weekend :-) Kate > > Hi . I remember reading your posts. I was 4 months post op > > yesterday.
