Hey there ,

It has been easier since I've been reading everyone's posts and I've

been doing a little retail therepy preparing myself. I think I have

about a months worth of ensure and soup stacked up in my basement.

I also sprang for some hot cereals for when I graduate to soft

foods. Getting out there and doing something feels better than just

waiting for it to happen.

10 days to go!

The crazy thing is that my husband is having surgery on the 9th for

an undiagnosable swelling in his finger. So I'll be spending

thursday before my surgery at the hospital with him. It will

hopefully be outpatient even though it is exploratory in nature.

Thank the gods that my mother is coming into town to take care of us

both and his mother lives just a short distance away. I can't

imagine how we'd do this at the same time if we didn't have our

parents still with us.

Next saturday a good friend and I are going to the spa for minicures

and pedicures (and I 'll be sure to paint my toes bright red BUT my

fingers will remain natural since the hospital often uses the

coloring of your finger nails to determine your status)...and then

it is on to her house for nachos and cheese, choclate cake, pizza,

and potato chips. Last chance for all my favorites in just one

sitting. I hope I don't barf...that would truely be a waste of a

last minute binge!!
