Okay first let me say I am NOT a Phil-ophile, as I think will become

apparent. I DO have a deep lifelong suspicion and even deeper dislike of

people who

specialize in spouting slogans (as he does), and I've never been interested

enough in him to check him further after having read a quote from him where he

stated " There is no reality, there is only perception " (ergo making him a

complete asshole in my book), so I don't know EXACTLY what his stance is on WLS.

ly, Phil-ibustererofpopularphyschologicalpoppycock says an awful alot of

stuff that demonstrates to me he is not too bright, okay? Or at the very

least, he doesn't know how to express his ideas in a clear way (for instance,

the crack about " choosing to be obese " , which I think he meant in a different

way, or a less literal way, than is being interpreted by some on this list .

BUT WHO KNOWS! As I said, Phil is not too bright.) Still, and

nonetheless, I found myself interested enough to watch the Couric

lovefest and

that Weight Loss Challenge show of his, because I am nothing if not curious,

particularly when someone postures in such an absolute way, as he did, about

having the ANSWER to everyone's weight loss struggles. Hell, I'd give Saddam

my

ear for a sec if he had a tip or two to impart about a topic that has been an

obsession, and that I have been struggling with and which has been plaguing my

life for 50 or so years! LOL! When I watched the show where he picked

out his " lucky losers " , I guess my attention started to wander, because I never

heard the remark that has been attributed to him at the end of that show

about WLS being " the easy way out. " ly, I am not all that interested in

enriching Dr. Phil-mybankaccountuptillitbursts wallet any further by purchasing

a

transcript of that show (for like 30 bucks or something?) but the only

reference to WLS I found so far on that website of his was a statement that

(paraphrasing) --even people who have had WLS STILL need to address the

emotional/behavioral issues that made them obese-- (would any of us argue with

that?). If

anyone has some reference they could post quoting Phil-ofcrap and his

pronouncements on WLS, I would love to read them. But here's an observation

from

moi about that show: I do recall that one of his " lucky losers " (I think it

was the " stay-at-home mom " archetype) had a husband who had wls recently and

lost a bunch of poundage. Now, in my world, IF

Phil-spantshavethesamesubstancehehasinhishead HAD said that crack about WLS

being " the easy way out " , then I

think SAH Mom with the recently WLS Hubby should have gone straight up to

Phil-ledtothebrimwithbullhooey and kicked him hard in the nuts ... I MEAN HARD!

SHAME on her that she didn't!

And BTW, WTF do these " lucky losers " expect to win? I kept hearing

references to their winning " something, " but I couldn't figure out what?!?!?!?

Is

Phil-ledwithphoniness actually going to give away some of his dirty lucre in

exchange for exploiting these VERY WILLING and VERY DESPERATE (sad for them!)

folks on TV for a year? Or was the promise of a year's uninterrupted

proximity (IF they behave, of course!) to his majestic messianic Phil the big

win?

WHY or WHY am I so confused by the modern world!!!! LMAO!

Hi to all,

Lucille
