Guest guest
Luna, how awful for you, especially after coming this far already. I'm sure this is just a temorary setback, and you'll find a way to have your surgery. I have to pay for mine out-of-pocket, since my insurance thru my employer (a large hospital) lists the surgery as an excluded benefit. I plan to put my surgeon's fees on a Visa card that has a high enough credit limit, and pay the hospital bill monthly. [My surgery won't be done at my hospital (my employer), but at a small " short-term " hospital here in Boise which will charge me half the cost of my hospital.] The only good thing about paying out-of- pocket is that my expenses will far exceed the 7.5% point of my adjusted gross income to declare this on my taxes in 2007. One of the previous posts suggested Capital One, which is a great company; just be sure you tell them the specifics of both the surgery and your debt (school loans). Good luck! Let us know what happens. ~~ Diane > > Luna, > > I am so sorry that you will have to cancel your surgery. I was looking forward to sharing the experience with you. Guest guest
Diane, that sucks that you have to pay it all out of pocket. I will probably pay most of it out of pocket, too, but at least insurance will cover some of it. Isn't that crazy that you work for a hospital but they don't cover it at all?! I did find the Capital One Health Care Finance site (http://www.capitalone.com/healthcarefinance/ for anyone who's interested). Unfortunately, the doctor has to participate in their system, and mine doesn't. It looks like a good deal for those who do, though. Thanks for commiserating, Diane! Guest guest
Suzy, thank you. It's so nice to know people care. I was feeling so alone earlier today, and I feel a little better now. I'm not quite ready to cancel the surgery. I'm going to go to some other banks and see if anyone else will give me a loan. I'll keep y'all posted. Guest guest
It's such a long process that once you are this close any hurdles are difficult to deal with. I think you are doing really well. I will have my fingers crossed for you that the finance comes through. We will think positive and hopefully both of us will be recovering in mid July. str8teeth4me <no_reply > wrote: Suzy, thank you.
