I can't watch him, and I won't support his sponsors. Ever since I saw him on

Oprah telling a 500+ pound woman who was crying and begging for help to just

" get in touch with her inner child " and she'll lose the weight, I realized

he's just a fish oil salesman. The sad part is that when Oprah endorses

someone,

America listens. If only she would wake up and smell the coffee.

I completely agree with what you said about Dr Phil.I can't tolerate his self

agradisement-he doesn't shut up long enuff to let guests talk.As far as

weight loss,he isn't exactly Brad Pitt.

Dr. Phil is a syndicated show... it will be on different networks in

different areas. It is your LOCAL TV station that buys the program, not the

national

network. If you feel the need to write, you should write to your local

station that broadcasts it.

<< Basically, you could find him anywhere.>>

But why would you want to? LOL

I watched a program on Dr. Phil last weekend on the Biography channel. It

really didn't portray him in a very nice light. And I found out that he

lived in the same town I did, and went to the same university I did (for

awhile). Midwestern State University is a good school for a general

education, but I was good friends with an Associate Professor of Psychology

there, and I'd bet you that would tell you that it wouldn't be the

best choice for a psychology education... I'm sure that she was his

instructor in at least a few classes, and I'd like to know now what she

thought of him then and now...

Re: Dr. Phil

Actually Dr. Phil is syndicated. Here in Rhode Island he's on the local ABC

channel. Basically, you could find him anywhere.

Dr. Phil is not the only one guilty of incorrect assumptions

about weight loss surgery. I have seen several Oprah shows

where she made the comment that somebody had lost weight

" THE HARD WAY, " when speaking of somebody dieting the

traditional way.

That too makes my blood boil!!! I believe me almost dying after

surgery says something about my commitment to my weight

loss, not to mention my my on-going struggle to eat right and

stay healthy after the surgery.

She has no right to speak either.

Yes, everyone's different. I haven't made up my mind yet if I'd trade it for

anything in the world. With a stoma 3x bigger than it's supposed to be, partly

due to nature, and partly due to poor surgical technique, it has been one

huge struggle for me, and one I'm now losing. There is no repair possible or

available. It was MY only way out too. And it failed. Now what do I do. Despair

rules my life these days.

Original surgeon placed it too close to the esophagus. There is only about 1

cm between the two, so no " fabric " there for the revisionist to work with. Not

even enuf space to add on a silastic band. I've been trying to warn people to

ask BEFORE they get their WLS where the surgeon will place the stoma, hoping

to keep others from the same fate. You are essentially locked into a lifetime

of constant hunger when the stoma is too large to hold food in your pouch.
