Guest guest
Becky, you crack me up! I don't know what he would have done if I had taken a pic of him. Probably run me out of the house! He was so mortified poor boy, suddenly he was a 5 yr old boy again, you know that look men sometimes get:-) As for the cough, Becky I had that too for the first 4 days post-op. I used liquid dimetap (sp?) that they had given me in the hospital. It was grape flavor and it worked a treat in quelling the coughing fits and it also tasted good, in my humble opinion. I also downed a lot of water everytime my throat got scratchy and itchy. Wow you've already gone out?! That's amazing! I ventured out for the first time yesterday with Alessandro (the fiance) and it felt really liberating even though I kept on thinking people were staring at me. Then by coincidence we bumped into one of my best friends who is moving to Kenya with his fiancee for a year to work on an HIV project so I was really pleased to be able to say bye to him in person rather than over the email as I had thought. The tough part about going out was not being able to really talk to people properly and also I was constantly terrified of people hitting me in the face by accident. Also, since Alessandro was hungry I actually sat in BIG NICK's for 15 minutes waiting for his take-home pizza order to come through. You should have seen me Becky! All these pizzas being walked by me and I was salivating like a poor dog. Lol! That'll provide you with a giggle! Keep up the excellent recovery and the happy spirits. I am just so happy that you are on the other side too now:-) Sara xx > picturing sara's sexy italian wine producing fiancee gaining weight > eating good ol' american food and then splitting his pants gave me a > giggle...hehehe...i wish we had a picture of that ) > > i've been venturing outside for the last two days - little quick walks > with my joey - trying to build up to walk to the movies on thrs! big > plans...anyway - i was outside for maybe two minuts yesterday and i > sneezed. damn nyc air! i was so freaked out when i felt it coming - > since everyone has warned me against the closed mouth sneeze ruining > the bone graft. but it came - and i kept my mouth open - and it > wasn't so bad! wahoo! > > anyway - my major complaint today is the coughing. the phlem just > keeps coming down my palate and i just don't know what to do. > everytime i cough - the stupid bone graft site hurts. i'm so scared > this bone graft won't take or i'll blow a hole into the fistula. > someone just make the coughing stop!!! > > the ortho called today (funny - huh? like i can talk on the phone) > and asked joey if i fit in my splint. i do - but my cheek keeps > getting stuck. i don't think that's what she was talking about though. > > here's to hoping for a cough free, sneeze free day ahead. and more > funny stories about sara's fiancee > > -becky
