Re: Plagio-eye alignment improper

The eye mis-alignment is pretty typical with plagio, but the rest of what you

describe sounds like it could be related to torticollis. Has he been diagnosed

and/or treated for that? If not, I would get him evaluated so that he can start

physical therapy for it if necessary.

As far as the eyes, my son's were also uneven, his right appeared bigger than

his left, also his right cheek was puffier than his left. He wasn't banded until

later (17 months) but did get a little improvement in the eye area as the

forehead corrected itself. But I also have found that as he got older (he just

turned 3), there has been some natural improvement in that area as well. His

cheeks are even (as he learned to talk and lose some baby fat) and his eyes

appear more even (since he now looks like a little boy and not a baby/toddler).

At least that's been our experience. What band is your baby wearing? Have you

asked your ortho/therapist about your concerns?

will the eye shape come be similar across both eyes? Will he have walking or

developmental problems, or vision problems ?

Hi ,

Thanks for sharing this! We just found out 's left eye is slightly

smaller. I never noticed it before the CT eval, but it was driving me

crazy yesterday. It is a relief that it can improve, and I will relax

some about.

How about the ears? We also found out that 's right ear is

anterior and now I really see it. The right ear sticks out a little

too. Did Jake have this also? Did it improve with a band or

afterwards?

We are waiting for CT to call us. My husband spoke with them yesterday

and they wanted to find the right technician to make 's band. My

husband was under the impression that his band needed to be very

precise since his case is mild. It seems will be about 17 months

too when his band arrives. (I really hope CT doesn't change their mind

about banding him, but I am probably just being paranoid.)

Thanks again,

Kathy, mom to , 16 months, 4 months Starband

Saila,

My daughter has mild plagio and tort. She was not a candidate for the helmet as

they felt that her situation was too mild. Her one eye is also bigger than the

other. She is now 12 months old and I have to say that her head shape has

improved and I am happy with it. Her one eye is still bigger than the other so

I too am hoping that this improves with time. My daughter was a little delayed

in crawling but that was due to her torticollis. Her vision is perfect.
