My sister (a non-WLS person by the way) has esophagus spasms that she

describes as severe chest pain in the rib area. She has them 3-4

times per year and often ends up at the ER where she is usually

tested for a heart attack (feels like it, symptoms similar). Only

thing so far that seems to help is sublingual nitro. She has been

unsuccessful in finding a cause or a way to stop the attacks. It

seems to also be related to GERD or reflux issues. Just thought your

issue sounded similiar.

I had wondered if it was just that. I know a lot of wls people talk

about stomach/pouch pain so it makes you wonder, does having your

stomach transected create for some this spasm/disorder?

I intend to bring this up with my new wls doc when I get in to see

him/her. Getting time off to drive to the closest wls doc is the

problem.
