I get hiccups occasionally too, but find it usually happens when I eat too

fast, one of my worst " old " bad habits. In the old days, when I could eat

rice, that was the food that caused the problem the most. Go figure!

Also, I made one year post-revision and had my upper GI done. Everything

inside looks great! The silastic ring is doing its job, and the radiologist

made sure I saw the whole show. I know this type of surgery has its risks,

and the local doctors who do WLS don't use the rings. I was a patient

advocate for my friend who had surgery 2 weeks ago, and spoke with her

doctor about it. I told him I would rather face the slim possibility of any

potential complications with the ring eroding into tissue than to be

guaranteed I would have to be buried in a piano case. He graciously

accepted my answer, and didn't pursue it. A wise man when dealing with this

spunky little Italian!

I will be participating in this good doctor's local support group, and he is

looking forward to my perspective from 10 years out. My perspective will

include the view from all of you here, so I want to thank you all in advance

for sharing so much. Tonight's meeting deals with a lot of the

psychological aspects of WLS: 5 Steps to Building a Life. I am really

looking forward to it.

Must run and feed the zoo: parrot, parakeet, 2 poodles and fish! I don't

have time to feel like an " empty nester " , even though my daughter is off at

college year round! Too much to keep my busy.

Thanks again all!
