Guest guest
I don't do it on a regular basis but it is one of the few carbs I allow myself. I got a 4 pack of microwave popcorn and it took me like 9 weeks to finish all 4. I stay away from sugar and white carbs, but do like popcorn, and I find it keeps me regular. Anyone else like me? Once in a while, but not every day -- popcorn IS a white carb, more or less. ~~ Lyn
Guest guest
I eat popcorn as an evening snack quite often. I put 1/4 cup plain kernels in a microwave popcorn bowl (you can buy them in Target and places like that), nuke for 2.5 minutes, and it's perfect. I add a bit of Pam so the salt will stick, but I suspect I'm using less fat and salt than the packaged microwave popcorn and it's a lot cheaper. I've even snuck this into the movies, just bring a tote bag in lieu of a smaller purse. Celia
Guest guest
I have popcorn occasionally as a snack - it fills me up pretty quick and I really like it. I used to love kettle corn but figured it was off limits now because of the sugar. Then I looked up the nutrition information on several brands of microwave kettle corn and was really surprised to see that the amount of carbs and sugar was low - less than 1g per cup for some (a friend of mine said several of the microwave brands use splenda instead of sugar). So I figure I can indulge in a bit of that once in a while. ) Sally 298 (BMI 49)/-134/164 Goal: 145-150ish lap RNY 7/10/02 Dr. Quinlin/Pittsburgh
Guest guest
Sally, I didn't know that. I usually just go right by the kettlecorn because I know its very sweet, but I'll have to read a few labels to see if I can find one of those with Splenda. Anyone know of a brand name that has kettle corn with splenda? I used to love going to Fairs in the summer time and getting fresh kettle corn!
