Guest guest
I had another question for the group. Now I know this isn't related to any of my surgeries but I have been having inner ear trouble for several days now. If I move my eyes without moving my head, my head just swims a few seconds till my brain seems to correct it. Has anyone ever had this? How long will it last? This is really frustrating. At first I thought it might be related to the Botox injections that I received last Thursday for my migraine headaches but I talked to my doctor and he said that isn't a side effect. I did get shots in each temple and above each ear (brows too). He said it is more likely related to coming off Effexor way too fast. I had been on it 2+ years and DC'ed it during a 5 day period. Is that dumb or what? I should have known better. I hope everyone has a great week. Me, I am just trying to stay sane and cool. Take care! Guest guest
I have this problem when I have an ear infection. I have one eustachian tube that is not in the position it's suppose to be in and can cause those problems. For example, I was on 3 tablets a day (non time release). I cut it by 1/2 a tablet and then went for several days. Then another half tablet and several more days until I stopped. Even at that, there were times that I had that " swimming " feeling. You might want to go back on a low dose and see if it stops. Then wean yourself off slowly. Guest guest
My problem was dx'ed as benign positional vertigo. Lasted anywhere from several days to several weeks. It was awful, couldn't move my head or turn over in bed without the room spinning and throwing up. Sometimes it was so bad that I couldn't even move my eyes- had to lay flat on my back with my eyes shut. Motion sickness pills and patches helped and then I found a doc who gave a series of exercises to do that stopped it in it's tracks. Caused by some crystal formations in the inner ear moving around so you have to make them move back to where they belong (or something like that). Check with an ENT and ask about positonal exercises. Guest guest
I had this twice last year. It was diagnosed as something like (I can't remember the exact verbage) positional vertigo. It is caused by a virus and there is nothing they can give to you to take it away - it has to run its course however they did give me something to make it bearable (sorry can't remember what the name was). ww14615 > I had another question for the group. Guest guest
Betty- Wierd thing is I have this as well!! This is the second ear virus such as this I've had this year. I HATE IT!! You're right in that it is miserable. I'm working on the exercises and hopes it resolves itself before I head for Oklahoma next week!
