Guest guest
Hi, What exactly is the surgeon going to do? Is the surgery going to be on the joints or to correct your bite? I've had five jaw surgeries so far - lower advancement and upper impaction to correct my overbite, TMJ arthroscopy and arthroplasty, and bilateral joint reconstruction. During the joint reconstruction, the surgeon removed what was left of my condyles and coronoids and rebuilt the condyle using distraction osteogenesis. It went well for about a year but I have a very destructive arthritis which caused the new bone to deteriorate again. Now I will have bilateral joint replacements done sometime around June 15, whenever the artificial joints are ready. Good luck with your surgery. I hope it goes well for you. > Hi...I'm very new to this site. I was researching because I will be > having an orthognathic surgery due to a prolonged jaw disorder.
